The 7 best sights without a boat on Koh Phi Phi 2022

Aktualisiert: 16. Sept. 2022

Koh Phi Phi offers you beautiful nature that you can rarely experience elsewhere. However, most spots and Koh Phi Phi Leh are only accessible by boat.

Of course, you can still reach beautiful spots on the island of Koh Phi Phi Don on foot.

Let's start with the beaches.

Viking Beach

After a 20-minute walk from Ton Sai Pier, you reach Viking Beach, which belongs to Viking Nature Resort but is freely accessible. We had a lovely day at the beach with a view of Ton Sai Village. On-site, we encountered cats, many hermit crabs and even a goose. It was also lovely that we had the beach to ourselves most of the time.

Long Beach

Long Beach was our destination when we landed at Viking Beach. It is just a few meters further through the Viking Nature Resort. As the name suggests, it is a long beach. It is also much more touristy due to the adjacent hotels and restaurants. Be sure to take care of your belongings, as monkeys are also on the loose here.

Loh Dalum Beach

This beach is opposite the central Ton Sai Beach. Fewer boats moor here, and it is a little quieter. At low tide, you can walk into the sea forever. At high tide, you won't see a lot of the beach. The famous fire shows start at the Slinky Bar as soon as it gets dark.

Loh Moo Dee Beach

The last beach we would like to recommend to you. If you're looking for peace, you'll find it here. It's opposite Long Beach, behind the Phi Phi Mountain Beach Resort water park. There are monkeys here, too. Watch your stuff.

Koh Phi Phi Don is also known for its stunning viewpoints.

Our Viewpoint Guide

View Point 1

The viewpoints are an absolute must for every Koh Phi Phi Don visitor, but getting there is a sweaty affair. Therefore, it is crucial to choose the right one right from the start. Be sure to walk across Loh Dalum Beach to the Slinky Bar. You can turn on Google Maps from there, but if you do this beforehand, it will take about 20 minutes longer. You should save energy, as there are some steep climbing stairs. The first stairway is marked "Stairway to Viewpoint" in Google Maps. At the top, you have to pay an entrance fee of 30 baht (for Viewpoints 1 & 2). A small price to pay for such a beautiful view!

View Point 2

From the first View Point, a signposted path leads to View Point 2. The course is more accessible, as there are no longer many stairs, but it is still steep. At the top, you can enjoy an even higher and more beautiful view. There is also a small shop and café for refreshments.

View Point 3

If you still haven't had enough, you can look for Viewpoint 3. We went down the stairs by the café and saw the path from there. Unfortunately, there is only one sign on track, but you can use Maps.me to know where the viewpoint is.

As this is private land, there is a further charge of 20 baht. Many say the view is about the same as the second viewpoint. We think the picture is also worth paying for again.

After a busy day of sightseeing or swimming in the sea, a good meal will help replenish your energy needs. Despite its size, Koh Phi Phi has a vibrant island life. It includes many restaurants, which are of outstanding quality by Thai standards.

We want to recommend our 9 favourite restaurants and bars.
